Lamorinda Chess School welcomes students 1-5th grades at every ability level from the complete beginner to accomplished Grand Masters. The instructors are Jan and Justin Kader, Chess Coaches with a combined experience of over 15 years teaching chess at public schools and in family based chess groups.

Registration & Fee: Registration forms will be distributed before our first class, February 2, 2026. The Registration form must be filled out and included with the fee for 10 weeks during the 1st day of Chess Club before or after class at the Art Room. We accept cash or checks made out to: Sacramento Kids Chess, or Venmo to Sacramento Kids Chess.

Chess Club starts at your school campus on February 2, 2026 and runs until April 27, 2026 (10 weeks). Classes are held Mondays from 3-4PM in the Art Room, except for minimum days and holidays.  A child can enter the group at any time and the fee will be prorated accordingly. Registration includes a weekly chess lesson for all abilities, a variety of innovative chess games and student competition. 

Every student will learn chess fundamentals and advanced play at their individualized skill level including new strategies, tactics and tournament rules while having fun.
